Born to the alleged-barren King
Neffon and Queen Ursila, Kida Kuuba was treasured
throughout the Modiun planet. As tradition, a crowning
ceremony took place when she was five yeas old. It was
by far the most celebrated crowning ceremony in Modiun
history.
There were presentations given by the Three Good
Sorcerers—Nora, Felfo, and Glorita—as well as the King
and Queen themselves. It was at that time when the
feared Witch of the Wastelands of Jarique appeared.
Angry that she would have to wait until the child died
in order for her to become a queen, Gratifa cast a
horrible curse upon the Princess that before her
twenty-first birthday, she would be electrocuted and
die. Fortunately, the Sorceress Glorita placed a
counter-spell on Kida stating that she would not die but
fall into a deep coma until the greatest act of love was
shown to her.
But King Neffon took no chances and forbade all
electrical objects to be within any close proximity of
the Princess. He formed an inconceivably realistic
underground world for the Princess where she stayed
until three nights before her twenty-first birthday. It
was then that she met Ben Harvle, who had broken into
the underground world. The two escaped the Modiun Palace
and explored the city of Kishov. Unknown to all, Gratifa
also learned of Kida’s escape and set out to fulfill her
evil prophecy. She succeeded. A great battle ensued and
the evil Modiun Witch was near victory. She almost
killed Kida when Ben jumped in front of the blast and
took the blow for the Princess. Suddenly, Kida awoke
from her deathly coma to find herself in the midst of a
battle between Nasil the Great and Gratifa. After the
defeat of Gratifa, Modius mourned the loss of Ben Harvle.
Kida took it extremely hard.
A year later, Neffon passed away because of a cancerous
disease. Within two years of her husband’s death, Ursila
died as well. The next day, Princess Kida was crowned
Queen.
A year later, the Modiun Ocean turned red and havoc
struck the planet as fish, Modiuns, and the atmosphere
suffered because of the mysterious red algae. She
allowed Howard Jackson and UMDA to investigate the
appearances of giant sea-monsters through Ocenocia. When
rumored that Jackson, Chris Naomi, Tim Overrgran, Jean
Geggo, and Joann Medefa had been killed in action, she
immediately organized, herself, a mourning ceremony on
the main pier off the Kishovian beach. She invited
representation from the Universal Council through
Vice-Overseer Hamor, representation from the Universal
Committee through Representative Nora, and Nasil the
Great through Jude Forque. During the ceremony, the
Sea-witch Octgoña attacked with her evil Darkness
soldiers. From out of their hiding places, the
pronounced-dead UMDA agents defended Modius and
eventually destroyed Octgoña and her evil minions. Queen
Kida honored the UMDA agents for their bravery.
During the four and a half years that followed, Modius
began to adjust to economic depression and then a
suddenly boost in the economy. Kuuba initiated many new
programs to preserve wildlife and natural resources
while continuing to work for social justice in all
aspects of life. She put an end to euthanasia and
prohibited slavery. She sold more royal land to make
room for smaller or struggling families.
It was through by her advisor, Felfo, that this caught
the attention of the greedy Robotic Confederation who
was struggling to repay debts. Kida ignored the issue
until the Confederation literally formed a blockade
around the planet and demanded the Modiun people
surrender. Queen Kida quickly initiated contact with the
Universal Government through Modius’s representative,
Overseer Hamor. The Government sent two representatives
from the Committee to deal with the Confederation. They
were not received. Jude Forque was the only surviving
representative and hurried to Kishov before the Queen.
Kida feared a declaration of war against the
Confederation because UMDA was only a fraction of the
Robotic Army. When Emperor Visus began the invasion,
Kida was captured and sentenced to a concentration camp
to die. Jude Forque rescued Kuuba and her court and
convinced her to go to Massovi and inform the Council of
the Confederation’s doings. Reluctantly, the Queen
agreed.
Accompanying her to Massovi was a trusted friend of the
Queen’s, Ronvoy Messedu. The two had often enjoyed many
conversations and tours of Modius together—strictly on
official business they claimed. Secretly, the two liked
each other a little more than they let the other know.
Though during the crisis she did not show it, Messedu’s
presence made a large impact on her.
When arriving on Massovi, Kida Kuuba met with Overseer
Hamor of the Universal Council. He began to plant the
idea in her head that the Council was under the control
of the Robotic Confederation and could not be trusted.
When she made her plea before the Council, it behaved
exactly the way the Overseer said it would. At the
suggestion of UMDA commander-in-chief Howard Jackson, a
group of Kida’s trusted friends—Tim Overgrann, Jean
Geggo, Ronvoy Messedu, Jude Forque, Felfo, and Glorita—travelled
to Yatuns to find a legendary energy crystal to prove to
the Council that the Confederation was trying to find
another. Kida’s patience soon ran out and she pled
before the Council a second time. Being refused a final
time, she cast the vote of No Justice in the Universal
Council. After this, she had decided to take matters
into her own hands and confront the Confederation.
Assuming that if the Overseer of the Council accompanied
her that the Emperor would back down, she took Hamor
with her. Hamor turned to Kida and asked for the
location of other energy crystals he assumed she knew
about. Kida was saved when Ronvoy learned of the
Overseer’s dark plot and brought Universal UMDA to her
rescue.
After Kida was safely on a UMDA ship, she revealed a
military force plan to take back her planet. It involved
great risk but was conceivable. With the help of Howard
Jackson and Chris Naomi, Kida executed her plan to
invade her own Modiun Palace and took captive Emperor
Visus.
After the defeat of the Robotic Confederation, Kida
revealed her feelings for the Modiun UMDA
commander-in-chief, Ronvoy, and the two were betrothed.
Two weeks later in the old Audience Chamber of Modiun
Palace, Kida and Ronvoy said vows and were married.
There was now a Queen and King of Modius. |
