The dreaded crest of Darkness, the Bindolanz hangs from the neck of every Darkness agent and officer as well as embossed on the chests of all Darkness soldiers and guards. Miry wears the crest around her neck and as a small ring on her finger. The Magician wears one around his neck. It is on every Darkness structure including spaceships, boats, aircraft, and land vehicles.

It is often referred to as “two triangles crisscrossing each other”.

The history of the Bindolanz is unpopular with the common-day people of the universe. It is rumored that its origin began in the days of the prehistoric civilization of the civilized universe during a time of revolution, religious expression, free love, and other extreme liberal views. This was the time when the orator Jamas spoke out against the freedom of religion and the Superior Spirit. As time passed and more Myarks became pledged more to Jamas than the Superior Spirit and he was exposed as Satantine and became an enemy of the free worlds. A great battle ensued against the true followers of the Superior Spirit and Satantine’s poltergosks. During a fierce battle between Satantine and the Nevuan king, the two fought using pointed, arrow-like spears; the black spear was Satantine’s while the king’s was white. Unfortunately, Satantine was able to take possession of both spears. He stabbed the Nuvuan king through the heart by both of the spears; the white and then the black. Using this manner, Satantine killed hundreds of warriors using the two spears. Since that time, the two “spears”, or triangles, are associated with the Dark Ways, Satantine, and eventually Darkness itself.
